Alternative energy

I did my Ph.D at the Energy Systems Research Unit, University of Strathclyde. I was studying distributed generation, which is the concept of generating electricity with millions of small power stations instead of a few large ones. I developed a virtual market-based control system for distributed generators that sort of worked if you squinted at it in the right light, which of course I did when writing the thesis.

If you came here you are probably interested in the grid-intertied inverter I designed, built, and connected to the grid.
